The short version
On The Doc is a weekly podcast where Amarilys and Misty, two Alabama women who met in their church choir, pick a documentary and use it as an excuse to talk. They truly love documentaries, but the doc is the vehicle: the show is two friends visiting, laughing and chasing rabbit trails, and they don't always stay on topic. Since 2020 they've covered everything from Tiger King to the Menendez brothers, with one firm rule: the people in these stories are real, so they roast the bad guys, never the people they hurt. New episodes come out every Wednesday.

Have a documentary for us?
Producers, distributors and publicists: we love hearing about new docs, and we've chatted with producers and directors on the show. Fair warning: the documentary is where we start, not a script we follow. We'll cover it, and then we'll probably talk about our kids, our choir and whatever else it reminds us of. That's the show.
What to send
- Title, platform and release date
- A screener link and password
- Trailer and press kit links
- Whether the filmmakers or subjects are open to an interview
Good to know
- Send it early. The more notice, the better.
- We watch what's sent, but we can't promise every doc becomes an episode.
- The doc gets us talking. Where the conversation goes from there is anybody's guess.
- We say what we really think. The people in these stories are real, so we'll roast the bad guys all day, but never the people they hurt.
Put "Screener:" and the title in the subject line so it doesn't get lost.
