Privacy
The plain-English version. Last updated October 17, 2026.
We're two podcasters, not a data company. We collect as little as we can, we don't sell anything about you, and we don't run ads that follow you around the internet.
What you can send us, and where it goes
Newsletter
If you sign up for our monthly letter, your email address goes to Kit, the service we use to send it. Every email has an unsubscribe link. We never sell or share your address.
Voicemails
If you leave a voicemail on Talk Over Us, the recording and anything you type with it (like your first name and city) are stored privately in our own website account. Only Amarilys and Misty listen to them. We only play a voicemail on the show if you checked the box saying it's OK. We delete voicemails after 90 days unless we've saved one for the show. If you're under 13, please ask a parent before you leave one. To keep out spam, the voicemail page uses Cloudflare Turnstile, a check that you're a person, and we keep a scrambled version of your internet address for one day so one person can't flood the inbox.
Bring Us To Your Town
When you pin your town, we store the town and the kind of event you picked. Never your address. Every requested town shows on the public map as a small pin with no count, so nobody can tell how many people asked. Once 20 people pin the same town, the map shows the number. Town search uses OpenStreetMap data through a service called Photon; our server does the searching, so your browser doesn't contact them. To stop people pinning the same town over and over, we keep a scrambled version of your internet address for one day.
If you email [email protected], we keep the conversation in our inbox like anyone else would.
What stays on your device
Your On The Shelf checkmarks are saved in your own browser. We can't see them. When you pick a side in our parenting debate, we count the vote anonymously, with a random ID saved in your browser so you can switch sides without being counted twice. Clearing your browser data erases your checkmarks.
Other sites we link to
Patreon, our shop, Spotify, Apple Podcasts and YouTube each have their own privacy policies. When you join on Patreon or buy something from the shop, that site handles your payment and information, not us.
Our fonts load from Google Fonts, which means your browser asks Google for them when a page loads.
Visitor stats
We don't use tracking cookies. If we ever add visitor statistics, we'll use a privacy-friendly tool and update this page first.
Questions, or want something deleted?
